Hearts and Watercolor Pencils

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy New Year!

I'm happily back today with a brand new card for a brand new theme challenge from the fine stampers at TGIF Challenges.  I was so excited to delve into a new creative challenge so here we go!  Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by!  If you can leave a comment and share your stamping journey, I'd love to hear from you.  And, if you'd like to use me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I'd love to earn your business.

Theme Challenge:  LOVE

My Card:
For the front panel of my card I used Stampin' Up! new watercolor pencils, watercolor paper, aqua painters, silver foil paper, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, and a clear Wink of Stella brush.  The sentiment is from Oh So Succulent stamp set.

To achieve this watercolor look:
Using the side of your pencil, lay down a swath of color one after the other on a watercolor paper panel.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Real Red.  Squeeze some water into the tip of an aqua painter brush and apply to your penciled colors.  I colored one color at a time and then blended to my liking.
Quick and Easy!

Inside Details:
The inside sentiment is from the new Love Sparkles stamp set in the recently released Occasions catalog.  The embellishments are pearls colored with a red Sharpie marker and the star on the heart is from the Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Happy Stamping!

Remembering A Kindred Spirit

Hello Stamping Friends,

Well, it's been quite some time since I last posted for you, but there is a reason for my recent silence.

I lost a very dear friend to brain cancer right after Christmas this year, and the reason I'm sharing this with you is because she was the person who taught me how to set up this blog and begin the blogging journey that I've been on for the past 3 years.

Her name was Glynis, and she blogged for years about all sorts of topics in her life.  She was a creative and hilarious lady and a devoted friend, the likes of which is very hard to find in this life.

She was patient, caring and and so very intelligent, and she willingly shared her gifts and time with so many people around her, including many orphans in several African countries through her work with a non-profit organization here in Oklahoma.

So, to honor my friend, today I will begin year number 4 of Quick And Easy Stamping, and as I share my creations with you, I pray you receive the benefits that Glynis and I envisioned through the birth of my blog; building creative confidence through quick and easy stamping.

Be brave and bold and step out into your creative experience.  I hope I can be a small part of your journey as you share in mine.

As Glynis always signed her blog posts,

Glad Tidings in Plaid

Hello Again, Stampers!

Today's card is a mash-up of two blog challenges that I thought would work very well together.

The first is from Paper Pal Arts.  I really liked this simple sketch, but even in it's simple style, the possibilities are endless.
Imagine all of the paper scraps you could use up that have just been lying around, or all of those rolls of washi tape!

Enjoy this fun Christmas card today!

Here is the sketch:

My card:

The second was a theme challenge from Merry Monday, to use "plaid."  The Warmth and Cheer dsp paper stack and the coordinating washi tape.

Plaid is trending!

The details on my card are created by using the Merry Tags Framelits Dies.  Oh goodness are they cool!  I love the detail in each one.

Triple Challenge Card: Clean and Simple Leaves

Hello Stampers!

I'm back today with a new fall-ish card based on three, yes, THREE challenges!
I can't believe it worked out, but I had a vision for how all three could come together in one card, and I'm here today to show it to you.  ;-)

I hope you enjoy it.

First, the sketch is from CAS(E) This Sketch

Second, the color scheme is from  Sunday Stamps

The background for my card was created by taking my ink pads and directly and strategically streaking my shimmery white card stock until I loved the wood look.  I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Third, the theme is from The Paper Players

I used the Vintage Leaves stamp set in the current Stampin' Up! catalog to create this simple leaf.

Candy Canes and Cookies for CCMC#423

Hello Again, Stamping Friends!

Today's card was inspired by the new sketch challenge over at the Create With Connie and Mary Blog
I immediately knew I wanted to use the new Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle for my card, and keep the design really simple to allow the new Cable Knit embossing folder to shine.
I also wanted this card to be easily mass produced and mailed.  ;-)

 I hope you enjoy!

Happy Stamping,

Here is the sketch:

And my card:

The other fun new products I used were also part of the Candy Cane Lane suite of products,  and the new Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder (It's incredible!!) The "Joy" sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek: Petals and Paisleys for PPA 314

Hello Stamping Friends!

Well, it's been a busy time of life for us and my stamping offerings have been non-exsistent.  I hope to share with you a little more consistently in the next few months.

In the Stampin' Up! world a new holiday catalog is going to be released on Sept. 1, and my card offering for you today is from the new catty.  It's based on the inspiration sketch from Paper Pal Arts.

I used the soon-to-be-released designer series paper called Petals & Paisleys, along with the new stamp set, Paisleys & Posies.  I love the new Mint Macaron taffeta ribbon paired with the paper as well.   Swoon!

I hope you enjoy it and take some time to use this sketch for your own inspiration as well.
